Holiday Extravaganza! The TLCC's December 7, 2010 monthly meeting continued the tradition of a holiday party catered by TLCC members Bonnie and Mike Zagorin. Have a great holiday season, and we'll see you again next year! Fall meetings! There were no TLCC meetings in July 2010. Regular club meetings resumed with the meeting of Tuesday, August 3, 2010, and all 2010 meetings are now complete! Coin Show (Complete)! The TLCC hosted its 44th semi-annual coin show the weekend of August 28-29, 2010, at the King Oscar Convention Center in south Tacoma. (Click on the link for more information.) The dates of this show were moved from the usual fall dates to to avoid a conflict with another show, and the corresponding 2011 show will also be held the last weekend of August. Redesigned Website! This website has been redesigned and published as of May 12, 2010. Please let Eric Holcomb know if you have suggestions, corrections, etc. We could use more club member content! Conventions!! TLCC members and guests were invited to attend the annual PNNA conventions, in Tukwila, WA, April 16-18, 2010 and Portland, OR, October 23-24, 2010. TLCC editor Rick Schulz was installed as one of the new PNNA board members, and also served as Puyallup Fair coordinator. See the PNNA website for more information, including 2011 convention dates. New! TLCC Library List! (PDF file) Members may borrow materials subject to club policies. 2010 Meeting Programs: The November 2 program was "Discussion and history of U.S. Large Cents, also including the English penny and the Canadian Large Cent" (or something like that) by TLCC VP Ken Fialkowski. Photo (right): Ken speaking with Ron Ahre in the background. The October 5 program was "Gold, gold type sets and gold investment" by Dan Duncan from Pinnacle Rarities. The September 7 program was another "Surprise night!" The June 1 and August 3 programs were about "Death" or "Your collection and estate planning" by Alan Anderson (photo at left). The May 4 program was "Medieval Bractates" by Scott Loos. The April 6 program was a surprise!
The March 2 program was "How to Shop a Coin Show" by club president Dave Schmidt. The February 2 program was "Surprise night" by new club Vice President Ken Fialkowski. The January 5 program was "The history and collectability of Roosevelt dimes, as experienced and expressed by Rick Schulz." Photos by Don Tjossem.
