"Hello and welcome to the Tacoma–Lakewood Coin Club. 2018 was our 62nd year, and we would love to have you join us. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month – all the directions are here on the website (calendar page). We also invite you to our bi-annual Coin Club Shows – Fun for all – Keep on Collecting!" - Todd, TLCC President.

TLCC coin shows! See the homepage for upcoming 2019 coin shows. Please note the change in location, and also change in date for the February show. For past shows including 2018, see the past coin shows page.

New Meeting Date! Beginning in May 2015, club meetings returned to the GLMHC facility (Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare, 9330 59th Ave SW, Lakewood, WA), however, the meetings are on the 3rd Tuesday instead of the 1st Tuesday of each month except July.

New Show Location!! Beginning with the February 23, 2019 event, TLCC semi-annual coin shows are held at Cheney Stadium, 2502 S Tyler St., Tacoma, WA. Dave Schmidt's coin shows also take place at the same location.

2018 Meeting Programs:

The December 18, 2018 club meeting featured the annual holiday party.

The November 20, 2018 meeting program was the "Todd and Dave Show," featuring their recent trip to Boston where they participated in an all-day seminar on tokens and medals with an all-star cast! According to Todd, it was a "symposium by the Massachusetts Historical Society and the Medal Collectors of America. Very cool day of bumping shoulders with the elite of medal collecting in the U.S."

The October 16, 2018 meeting was scheduled to have a talk by Norm Mikat about his customers over the years and their unique interests, however Norm was unable to make it, so there was a substitute program.

The September 18, 2018 meeting featured a talk by Jon McDaniel on "So-Called Dollars," plus a quiz on various expositions in the U.S. by Dave Schmidt.

The August 21, 2018 meeting featured Dave Schmidt and Tom Tullis, reporting their tales of the "The City of Brotherly Love," after attending the ANA World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia, Pa.

The June 19, 2018 meeting featured Steve Campau, owner of the Renton Coin Shop. His topic was "Coin Grading" or something related.

The May 15, 2018 meeting program was "Coin Collecting, 1936" by Tom Tullis, who used The Numismatist magazines from that year to talk about collecting back then. Should have been fun!

The April 17, 2018 intended meeting program was delayed, and was instead presented in May.

The March 20, 2018 meeting program was "Anything But Coins," chaired by former club president Ron Ahre. This was an opportunity for club members to showcase their other hobbies.

The February 20, 2018 meeting featured club member Ken Fialkowski speaking on "World and U.S. Currency."

The January 16, 2018 meeting featured a special auction of 25 "club items."
