2011 Meeting Programs:

The December 6 meeting featured a Holiday Extravaganza (party) hosted by Ken Fialkowski, with a holiday gift exchange. Members and guests participating in the gift exchange were asked to bring a wrapped numismatically-oriented present valued at no more than $10.

The November 1 program was an open forum discussion on some of today's issues surrounding our hobby. The moderators were Dave Schmidt and Rick Schulz.

The October 4 meeting program was on "the history and the collecting of Roosevelt dimes." Rick Schulz stood before us and spewed forth with whatever knowledge he has on the topic, also fielding some tough questions!

The September 6 meeting featured Ron Ahre and Mike Zagorin sharing their knowledge of Numismatic Literature, which was also the theme for Show & Tell.

The August 2 meeting featured reports from two of our Summer Scholarship winners. Todd Hughes enlightened us on his experiences in Baltimore and Jon McDaniel told us what was going on in Colorado Springs at the ANA Summer Seminar.

The June 7 meeting program was "how to take good pictures of your coins with your digital camera" by Rick Schulz.

The May 3 meeting program was "Estate Planning" (our collections as part of our estate) by Dave Schmidt and Alan Anderson.

The April 5 meeting highlighted the theme of this year's National Coin Week, Blue, Gray and Greenbacks. All members were encouraged to bring something (not necessarily coin or currency related) for Show & Tell that is representative of the Civil War. Hopefully we'll have some photos soon!

The March 1 program was a "Mystery Program" arranged by club VP Ken Fialkowski. In addition, club Secretary Todd Hughes spoke about his experiences at the ANA/PNNA Counterfeit Detection Seminar.

The February 1 program was reports of the six club members who received scholarships to attend the ANA/PNNA Counterfeit Detection Seminar. Congratulations to Kevin Charboneau, Brian Deren, Todd Hughes, Ray Kelley, Gale Nickel and Jay Thompson for winning a scholarship!

The January 4 program was "Checks and Banking Practices of the 19th Century" by Ken Failkowski. Photo (left): Ken giving his talk. Also see images of some of the actual checks on the January 2011 "show & tell" page.
